Summer Music Workshops

Bandwagon Music & Repair is excited about its Summer Music Workshop offerings. If you are interested in a summer music workshop to be sure to click on the links below to register. Space is limited to 12 students per class so be sure to get registered in early.

 

Beginning Songwriting

An exciting introduction for anyone who hasn’t written and wants to learn or those who are still getting a grasp of the basics and want to improve. Covering topics like song structure, what makes a song “marketable”, music business stuff, PROs like ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC, and how to pitch your songs to others, etc.

There’s No Business Like Show Business

A week of exploring everything show business has to offer from theatre to film and beyond. You will sing, dance, act, and more. Possible showcase at the end of the last day. Specific material to be determined by interest of class.

Adult Beginning Uke: Ages 18+

Spend your June Mondays this summer learning a new skill or honing an old one. Start with the basics like how to tune your instrument, how to replace your strings, how to pluck vs. strum, different strumming methods, etc, and move on to learning notes and chords and songs galore so you can host your own luau or just strum along with friends. Buy a uke in the store beforehand or check one out from the local library!

Better Vocal Health

Ever wondered why you can’t get out all the notes, or why different registers sound different? Maybe you’ve lost your voice just when you needed it, or you’re singing a lot and want to take better care of yourself? Using tried and true techniques and some ideas you may not have heard of, Sarah will coach you on how to take better care of your voice for whatever you’re using it for, and also extend your range. Come learn to care for your voice the way the pros do!

Let’s Fiddle It Out: Ages 12-17

A great, fun way to enhance your violin/fiddle skills this summer. This camp will focus on bridging the techniques between more classical violin and fiddle styles, group and solo playing, and even bring some pop songs to life with your bow. You do not want to miss it!

Adult Beginning Fiddle: Ages 18+

Have you always wanted to learn to fiddle but weren’t quite sure how to get started? Here’s your chance. Starting with the basics, like how to tune your violin and how to bow and working your way all the way up to playing some familiar tunes, now’s your chance to learn a new skill and impress your friends! Bring your own violin or rent one in the store beforehand.

Jazz @ Bandwagon

Bring your bass, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, or even keyboard and spend the week learning new songs, working on improv skills, transcribing solos, and partnering with multiple teachers for a full jazz experience. Taught by a different teacher each day from different backgrounds and skill sets, this camp will leave you with a whole new appreciation and skill set for playing anything jazz. Limited to students/adults who feel fairly proficient in basic skills and scales on their instrument. *Minimum of five participants in order to assure a good combo. So, bring your friends!
